The Whiskey Gingers (TWG) began with Jess Crothers and Jenny Bendure, who met at the SongWriters Association of Norman (SWAN) in mid-2017 and quickly formed a musical bond and friendship. Both singer/songwriters have performed in previous bands with close to 20 years' experience between them. They started playing as an acoustic duo in the spring of 2018, adding singer/songwriter Michael Bendure (Heartbreak Rodeo) on bass and vocals later that summer. The acoustic trio performs original music and cover tunes ranging from folk to classic rock and pop that highlight their rich vocal harmonies. For certain venues, they can add a drummer to kick things up a notch.

In 2020, the band released their first full-length album, You Should Know, which was recorded by Oklahoma guitar legend Terry "Buffalo" Ware and mixed and mastered by Carl Amburn at Mousetrap Studios. The album is available for streaming on Spotify and YouTube or for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and other outlets. Physical CDs are available for sale at The Whiskey Gingers' live gigs.
